(Updated January 11, 2007)

Disney has completely revamped the ticketing for the parks. The new program is called "Magic Your Way". The main concept is you buy a base ticket and add only the "Options" that you want to use. The best thing with this new program is that it is now ALOT more inexpensive that it was before, well kinda but ill get to that later. Here is the key, to really reap the benefits of the new program, you must be going to the parks 5 or more days. Do you really park hop? Is the water parks a must? if you answer no to either you may be on the road to some very good savings. Ok lets get started...first pick the number of days that you want to goto the parks.

View a PDF of the prices

Ticket Duration Adult (Ages 10+) Children (Ages 3-9) Total Adult Price
1 $67.00 $56.00 $67.00
2 $66.00 $55.00 $132.00
3 $64.00 $53.33 $192.00
4 $50.50 $42.00 $202.00
5 $41.20 $33.80 $206.00
6 $34.57 $28.50 $208.00
7 $30.00 $24.71 $210.00
10 $21.60 $17.70 $216.00

Ok...now you've got the number of days that you want to visit the parks. It is now time to discuss options. There are just 3 options to choose from: Park Hopping, Magic Plus Pack, and No expire option. Here is where it can get a little intresting. With so many options and combination of options, you really need to sit down and think of what you might do.

Option 1 Day 2 Days 3 Days 4 Days 5 Days 6 Days 7 Days 10 Days
Park Hopper® Option (Bounce around the 4 theme parks on the same day) $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00 $45.00

Magic Plus Pack Option (Enjoy other fun attractions like Water Parks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island, and Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex) $50.00 (3 visits) $50.00 (3 visits) $50.00 (3 visits) $50.00 (4 visits) $50.00 (4 visits) $50.00 (5 visits) $50.00 (6 visits) $50.00 (6 visits)

No Expiration Option (Unused days never expire) N/A $10.00 $15.00 $40.00 $55.00 $60.00 $90.00 $155.00

A couple of things to consider and think outside the box when planning a trip

  • If you dont get the no expire option, any unused days expire 14 days after the first day is used

  • Dont get options that you will not use. Before MYW tickets, a 4-day parkhopper pass was the most bought ticket. Today, that same ticket will cost you $287.00 plus tax (202 base + 45 PH + 40 NE ). If you only plan to goto the theme parks for 4 days and you have a 4-day pass, dont get the no expire option because you will use your ticket. That saves you 40 PER TICKET. The same thing holds true for the park hopper option. Dont buy the option if you are not going to park hop. A base ticket is what most people will use.

  • UPDATED: Apperantly too many people were doing this and disney now has been ACTIVELY telling people they can NOT enter this theme park with a non park hopper option. I witness this in september and asked around to confirm.Think outside the box. Do the math. Here is how to really save some cash(wont disney be pleased). Ok here is what you do. lets take the 4 day park pass above, which has a base price of $185.00. Your plans call for 2 of the days you want to park hop. The problem here is that disney is forcing you to make EVERYDAY (all 4 days) a park hopper. The total price is $220.00 for a 4 day park hopper. Here is a better way! Buy a 6 day ticket instead! Its $196.00 and of course you will use 2 days on the days you plan to park hop, but you are not paying the premium to park hop on the days you dont plan to. Plan to park hop 3 of the 4 days...get a 7 day ticket instead...still cheaper. Now what if you want to goto a few water parks? PERECT...its cheaper the get the Magic Plus Pack Option on a 7 day pass than on a 4 day pass PLUS you get 2 additional visits and save $11.00. So by using this method above, you can $31.00 PER TICKET. The only time it hurts to buy more days like this is the no expire option.

  • So what about annual passes? Well...the standard AP is $395.00 while the premium AP is a whopping $515.00. Of course florida residents get special pricing. If your a DVC member, then you get $100.00 off an AP. So is it better to get an AP than standard tickets? Again depends...Are you staying in a disney hotel? do you plan to visit at least 5 days? Their are so many variables. Being a vacation club member that travels to disney 4 times a year, its a no brainer, even more so with the discount. AP open up a whole new world. up ro 40% discounts on disney resorts, 10% discount on select dining locations as well as outdoor activities plus a bunch of other stuff too. Again, do the math and see if it makes sense for you.
